Sustainable production and environmentally friendly energy generation

"For me, sustainability means a holistic balance between the core business issues of quality, economic success, as well as social, ethical and environmental responsibility."

Martin Pedross
owner of Karl Pedross AG

The concept of sustainability has been deeply rooted in the corporate DNA of KARL PEDROSS AG since its early years and active climate protection has always been an important part of our corporate philosophy. Every decision to improve production processes is based on both economic and environmental aspects.

Renewable raw materials and environmentally friendly processing

The processed sawn timber is felled in sustainably managed forests in South Tyrol and neighboring Tyrol and is PEFC ™ certified. We use solvent-free and monomer-free lacquers to finish our skirting and profiles (around 130 km per day).
Digital printing allows us to reproduce surfaces that are 1:1 similar to real wood. Many trees are thus preserved in nature.

Energy from waste wood - our powerhouse

Our biomass cogeneration plant has been in operation since 2012 and all waste wood from production is converted into energy. In addition to 3.500 MWH/year of electricity, heat is also generated and fed into the district heating network of the municipality of Latsch.

Our biomass cogeneration plant heats the entire hot water supply required in the summer months for the around 5,000 residents of our municipality. The heat output amounts to 2.5 MW per hour.

Green electricity through our photovoltaic system

With around 7,000 m² of photovoltaic modules on our roofs, we generate electricity for our own use and the surplus is fed into the local power grid.
